The Group

With approx. 188,000 employees in more than 80 countries, ThyssenKrupp AG is a global group specialised in materials and technologies, developing ideas and innovations for sustainable progress. In addition to manufacturing materials and plants, the Group also provides complete system solutions and innovative services. Portfolio is subject to continuous improvement to sustainably increase the earning power and the value of the Group. The Group’s activities and know-how are focused in two divisions: Materials & Technologies. The former includes the business areas of Steel Europe, Steel Americas, Stainless Global and Materials Services. The latter includes Elevator Technology, Plant Technology, Components Technology and Marine Systems.

Stainless Global

The Stainless Global business area brings together ThyssenKrupp group’s activities in the areas of stainless steel flat products and high-performance materials, i.e. nickel alloys and titanium. The operations of this business area are steered by the flagship company ThyssenKrupp Nirosta. The other operating companies in the Stainless Global business area are: ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni in Italy, ThyssenKrupp Mexinox in Mexico and the joint venture Shanghai Krupp Stainless in the People’s Republic of China. In 2007 ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA began building a new stainless plant in the US state of Alabama. ThyssenKrupp Stainless International is responsible for all stainless steel distribution and service activities that are not directly covered by the production companies in their respective home markets. ThyssenKrupp VDM is specialised in high-performance materials such as nickel alloys, titanium and titanium alloys.
