Following the earthquake that shattered Haiti, the ThyssenKrupp group Works Council has, similarly to what it did for other natural disasters, launched a support campaign with all group companies, in order to raise funds to be devoted to reconstruction projects.
The TK AG Executive Board will double every euro donated by employees. That means 1+1=2!
Donations from employees in Italy will go towards a reconstruction project organised by the “Casa del Sole” charitable organisation: a children’s school and care centre located at Lalue in Port au Prince. The project will be directed by Terre des Hommes Italia, a foundation which has long been involved in supporting programs to disadvantaged children in developing countries.
The total donated by employees in Italy will be doubled by ThyssenKrupp AG and delivered to the German charitable organisation “Kindermothilfe Duisburg e.V.” which, during the Tsunami disaster in India in 2008, proved to be a reliable project partner and one committed to helping the weakest.

The donated amount may be detracted from taxes, by stating it on the 2010 tax return.
In order to raise more money for Haiti’s children, the collection deadline has been extended to April 12th 2010.
